Syracuse Police have released the timeline in the investigation of the Donjuante Anderson Homicide. Anderson was shot on December 24th on Turtle Street. The suspect, who has been detained, is a 15-year-old male. The investigation is ongoing.
December 24th, 2019 at 8:42 P.M.: Syracuse Police Officers respond to 222 Turtle St. in regards to a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located a victim, Donjuante Anderson (8/11/89), who had been shot. Anderson was subsequently transported to University Hospital by AMR paramedics. He ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on December 26th, 2019.
December 24th, 2019 – Present: An investigation was commenced by Criminal Investigation Detectives, where numerous people were interviewed, and an extensive neighborhood and citywide canvass was conducted. In addition, search warrants were executed, and evidence recovered was processed and thoroughly analyzed. As a result of the efforts, a 15-year-old juvenile male suspect was identified.
May 13th, 2020: The aforementioned 15-year-old juvenile male suspect was charged with Anderson’s murder. He was already lodged in the Hillbrook Detention Center, on an unrelated matter, at the time of his arrest.
In regards to this investigation, the 15-year-old juvenile male suspect was charged with the following crimes:
One count of Murder in the second degree, one count of Attempted robbery in the first degree, and one count of Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
The suspect is currently lodged in the Hillbrook Detention Center.
