The YWCA Youth Development Program is hiring! – Girls Inc. Program Facilitator

The YWCA Youth Development Program is hiring!  We are interested in providing employment for a Girls Inc. Program Facilitator.

Job Summary: Plan, organize and conduct activities with girl during and out of school time, including late afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with occasional overnight trips. Responsible for developing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating Girls Inc. at the YWCA programming. Coordinating community service-learning opportunities and providing overall support for girls enrolled in Girls Inc. at the YWCA programming at Zonta House, school, trips, or community-based site.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
• Research and Develop Programs
• Work with Executive Director and or Program Manager and staff to implement goals within framework of policies and the approved budget
• Assess the program requirements of girls within community
• Communicate with organizations that represent youth to determine needs and interests
• Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and regional and national trainings to share ideas and concerns
• Work collaboratively with other staff to meet goals and achieve staff performance
• Plan, implement, and promote Girls Inc. at the YWCA Program
• Schedule activities, facilities, and volunteers as required
• Ensure all programs and activities are implemented according to Girls Inc. at YWCA policy
• Facilitate groups of youth participants ages 5-18 (5-9; 10-13;14-18YOA)
• Provide “continuing contact” support to participants (maintain school and community service information, keep teens connected to program)
• Serve as a liaison with parent/guardians through emails, phone calls, and personal interaction
• Maintain healthy and appropriate relationships with girls with a focus on safety, support, interaction, and engagement
• Attend school, church, and community events to represent Girls Inc. at YWCA
• Coordinate community relations campaign to promote girls’ program
• Arrange for advertising/promoting via social media of girls’ programs
• Maintain contacts with local, regional, and territorial organizations for youth

Report on Program Performance and Evaluation
• Record information on and prepare reports concerning youth programs, costs, number of participants, and equipment and facility
• Maintain accurate and current registration forms and attendance records on all youth
• Provide monthly and yearly reports about Girls Inc at YWCA programs and opportunities
• Keep Supervisor informed of problems, concerns, needs, trends, and unusual situations

Minimum Qualification Standards:
Bachelor’s degree in youth development, social work, psychology, education, or related field preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered) and/or minimum one-year experience in girls/youth program delivery.

• Available to work flexible schedule to accommodate community events

Mathematical Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (body language) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Skills
Proven success in youth and family interactions. Knowledge of the stages of youth development and positive approaches to behavior management. Program implementation experience with teens. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information. Ability to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and partner organizations. Ability to work individually and with team. Comfortable working with diverse groups.
