Two day event brings together industry and community leaders
CenterState CEO, the City of Syracuse, Syracuse University School of Information Studies and Microsoft invite the community to join them as they host the first annual Syracuse Surge Summit, virtually on October 14 and 15, to highlight Syracuse Surge progress and the community’s emerging tech opportunities.
The two-day event is an initiative of AdvancingCities and Microsoft’s Digital Alliance. Catalyst funding is provided by JP Morgan Chase Foundation as part of the AdvancingCities Challenge. Day 1: Surge Strategies & Initiatives

Featuring a keynote presentation by Mark Muro, senior fellow and policy director at the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program, who will talk about Brookings Regional Innovation Hubs. Additionally, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh will offer remarks on Syracuse’s progress and Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon will participate in a panel presentation.
Day 2: Future Talent & Innovators
Thursday, October 15, 2020 11:00am-2:00pm EST
Featuring a keynote presentation by Anthony Fraiser, digital strategist, tech entrepreneur, author and public speaker, will share his thoughts on his experience building an inclusive tech industry in Newark and lessons Syracuse can apply to its efforts.
