(September 6, 2022) Mayor Walsh welcomed a group of students from the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at Reichman University – International School to Syracuse. Students are visiting the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University from Israel. Over the course of the next couple weeks, they will participate in a crash course covering American politics and security.
As part of the program, they heard from Mayor Walsh to learn about the democratic election system and what it is like to run for elected office as an independent, got a sense of the initiatives of city government, heard about some of city gov’t’s challenges and got a better sense of local/city politics. “Welcome to the students, and best of luck in their studies over the next two weeks!”
