Mayor Walsh says new data is, “a win for our community and another sign we’re achieving our vision of being a growing city.”
Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on 2020 Census data showing Syracuse gained 2.4% population from 2010 to 2020:
“The new Census data is a win for our community and another sign we’re achieving our vision of being a growing city. It’s an historic shift that shows Syracuse is heading in the right direction. We spent month after month in 2020 working with our community on the Census response. This news is a credit to the many volunteers and partners who were a part of the Syracuse-Onondaga County Complete Count Committee. In the weeks ahead, we will be going through the data to better understand the steps we need to take to continue to make peoples’ lives in the City better.”
