A Letter from the Vice President of EOC Timothy C. Penix
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center, I would like to thank the organizations and employers who partnered with us this past year to provide quality training opportunities to our students. It is our belief that partnerships and collaborations are the necessary building blocks for developing and providing in demand training programs that lead to living wage employment opportunities.
We have been fortunate to engage in continuing efforts with Center- State CEO, National Grid, Syracuse University, Onondaga Community College, Onondaga Earth Corps., ONPOINT for College, LiteracyCNY, The Syracuse Onondaga NAACP, New York State Black and Puerto Rican Legislative Caucus, Jubilee Homes, Syracuse Housing Authority, Inter- faith Works, Greater Syracuse Works, Onondaga County, The City of Syracuse, Onondaga Public Library, South West Community Center, SUNY Upstate Occupational Health Clinic, and many other community based organizations who share in our mission and vision to make Syracuse a vibrant community for everyone.
As you read the following articles written by faculty, staff and students, you will see the collective achievements of those who participated in the varied programs and services that we were able to provide as a result of aligned partnerships focused on economic development and empowerment. If you or your organization would like to engage in a partnership with SUNY Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center, please do not hesitate to contact me with your ideas. We welcome your support!
