The Syracuse City School District’s Public Service Leadership Academy (PSLA) at Fowler High School, in partnership with Le Moyne College ERIE 21, will offer high school students their first professional coding experience at a new Hack-a-Thon event this Wednesday, March 16
PSLA students in the school’s Cybersecurity, Computer Forensics, and Geospatial Technology Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs will attend the Hack-a-Thon at Le Moyne’s campus, where they will be presented with a challenge to conquer, allowing them to reinforce their coding skills and content-area curriculum in a fun and engaging way.
The Hack-a-Thon will be held at the Le Moyne College Campus Center on Wednesday, March 16th.
The day’s schedule is as follows:
- 9:30 – 12:00 pm – Hack-a-Thon portion with Pam Puri from Teck4Kidz
- 12:00 – 12:30 pm – Lunch and Awards From Hack-a-Thon Portion
- 12:30 – 1:15 pm – Campus Tour
- 1:15 – 3:00 pm – Programming with Doug Hill of Le Moyne College’s Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Creativity
- 3:00 – 4:00 pm- GenCyber Presentation and Recruiting with Prof. James Enwright and LMC
