The Syracuse City School District will be purchasing supplies to distribute to each school prior to the 2022-23 school year. The supplies that will be provided were chosen based off the school supply lists provided by each of our school buildings and include things like pencils, pens, crayons, binders, notebooks, folders, graph paper, glue, and more. Supplies are intended to be provided to students throughout the school year, serving as a supplement for families who are unable to purchase supplies on their own.
The district is also purchasing classroom supplies that will be provided to each school building to supplement classroom needs and help prevent staff from using their own money for classroom supplies. Materials provided to staff will be distributed based on classroom size and will include dry erase markers, tissues, Lysol wipes, headphones, hole punches, and more.
In addition, Davis will be announcing that every classroom teacher will receive a $250.00 stipend for classroom supplies not already purchased by the district.
There are many community members and organizations still collecting and distributing school supplies including Mary Nelson and the Youth Day Barbecue.
