Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School Wins Big at The Most’s CNY Science and Engineering Fair

–Students, Yakina Sika-Amoah and Theodore Simon have earned a spot in the International Science Fair after their research, “Developing a Robot for Cleaning Coastlines”–

Syracuse, NY.Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School students Yakina Sika-Amoah and Theodore Simon won multiple awards and top honors at the MOST’s CNY Science and Engineering Fair for their research and development of a robot for cleaning coastlines. Yakina and Theodore participated in this virtual competition along with high school students in grades 9-12 throughout Central New York for a chance to win dozens of merit awards, prizes, scholarships and qualifying status for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in 2021. Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School has been recognized as one of the best public high schools in the nation two years in a row by the U.S. News & World Report and has consistently maintained a waiting list in excess of 1,400 students. Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School is the only charter school in New York State accredited by The Middle States Association, a nationally acclaimed k-16 accreditation organization. Over the past several years, Syracuse Academy of Science Charter School had a cohort graduation rate of more than 90% with more than 95% of those graduates receiving College Acceptances from several Universities and Colleges.
