Geddes, NY – Senator John W. Mannion (D-Geddes,) today released the following statement on the return of the Great New York State Fair. Senator Mannion’s district includes the state fairgrounds:
“The resumption of the state fair is fantastic news for Central New York and another indication that post-pandemic normalcy is within sight.
“Central New York is ready to welcome visitors from across the state to enjoy this annual tradition in a safe and responsible way. The fair means desperately needed jobs and economic activity for my constituents. Another year without the boost from the fair would have been catastrophic.
“I have every confidence in our hotels, restaurants, the wider business community, and local governments to all do their part to protect public health and ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone.
“I’m looking forward to seeing people return to Chevy Court – and I strongly suggest this year’s butter sculpture depict and honor our frontline healthcare heroes.”
