State Fair Announces Venues for 2021 Chevrolet Music Festival Season

The Chevy Court stage will host concerts for the 2021 Great New York State Fair, Director Troy Waffner announced today. The stage is available as a result of Governor Cuomo’s announcement that the Fair will be able to operate at 100% of capacity, with all buildings and facilities available for use. The Fair will host its largest shows on the Chevy Park stage in the New York Experience area. The Chevrolet Music Festival concert season at the Fair will be the largest and most diverse in its history and largest at any fair in America.

Troy Waffner

Troy Waffner, Fair Director, said, “We’re planning the biggest and best fair in our 180-year history and investing more than ever in the greatest free music lineup at any fair in America. Moving our biggest shows to the 15-acre Chevy Park stage means more people than ever will be able to enjoy these concerts and have plenty of room to feel safe and comfortable and to dance if the spirit moves them.”

The New York Experience concert area also provides the ability for bigger modern shows to bring large banks of lights and video walls.

National touring concerts will take place on the Chevy Court stage at 7 p.m. and on the Chevy Park stage at 8 p.m. Concerts scheduled for 2 p.m. will be scheduled for either stage, depending on the Fair’s estimate of attendance. Local and regional bands will be scheduled to perform on both stages, depending on the available openings.

Chevrolet sponsors concerts at the Great New York State Fair.

Thanks to the successful efforts of New Yorkers to battle COVID-19, the Fair will be open with no restrictions on attendance. Safety guidance can change and prospective fairgoers are advised to follow the Fair’s social media sites, sign up for the Fair’s email newsletter, or closely follow the Fair’s website to get the latest developments.

Founded in 1841, the Great New York State Fair is America’s third largest state fair. The Fair showcases the best of New York agriculture, provides top-quality entertainment and is a key piece of Governor Cuomo’s CNY Rising strategy of growing the Central New York economy through tourism. Fair attendance is up more than 46% since the beginning of more than $120 million in investments, with 1.33 million people attending the Fair in 2019. The 2021 Fair runs from August 20 to September 6.

The New York State Fairgrounds is a 375-acre exhibit and entertainment complex that operates all year.
