The Student Assembly of the State University of New York states the following:
“Today, the Student Assembly celebrates a step that will make higher education more accessible and affordable for millions of students. Nearly 1 million students have chosen the State University of New York as their home for higher education and this debt cancellation shall open the doors for so many more students who look towards SUNY for their future.
Investment in higher education is an important step in investing in the future of our State. We are glad to see emphasis placed upon leveling the playing field for those seeking quality public education in our State. The Student Assembly looks forward to future acts that will make SUNY more accessible, affordable, & equitable for all.”
