On Friday, March 25th, 2022, at around 4:02 P.M., Officers responded to 504 Delaware Street for a stabbing call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 74-year-old male who was stabbed in the arm. The victim was transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. The suspect, who was located on the scene, was identified as Edward Coates, 59, of Syracuse. Coats is accused of stabbing the victim during a fight in the residence prior to police arrival. Coates was arrested and booked at the Justice Center for Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.
