New York State Attorney General Letitia James Community Gun Buyback In collaboration with the City of Utica Police Department

Payment will be made by pre-paid gift card at the site. Additional $100 git card payment will be made for ghost /non-serialized guns.

You Bring the weapon, and the amounts listed below will be given

  • Assault Rifle – $250
  • Handgun – $150
  • Rifle or Shotgun – $75
  • Non-working or Antique Gun – $25

Q. How do I bring a gun to the drop off site?
A. Guns must be UNLOADED and placed in a plastic bag, a paper bag, or a box.

Q. Can I transport the firearm in a car?
A. Yes, it must be UNLOADED and in the trunk in a plastic bag, a paper bag, or a box.

Q. How many firearms can I surrender?
A. As many as you wish to provide.

Q. Can any member of the public surrender a gun?
A. Licensed gun dealers, and active or retired law enforcement officers are not eligible for this program.

Q. Do I need any identification to turn in a firearm?
A. No, this is an Amnesty program, and no questions are asked of the person dropping off the firearm.
