Mayor Walsh Announces New Mobile App and Online Portal for SYRCityline to Enhance User Experience and Service Request Efficiency

Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced the launch of a new mobile application and web portal for SYRCityline, the City of Syracuse’s non-emergency reporting system for service requests. Powered by SeeClickFix, a user-friendly digital software platform, constituents can submit quality of life requests directly from a mobile device or using the web page and easily track progress with the click of a button.

“One of the goals I had when I took office was to improve our online presence and make City services easier to access. The new Cityline app and web portal through SeeClickFix will give us many eyes throughout the city to spot issues to spot issues and help us address them,” said Mayor Walsh. “The launch of this new tool will improve how we deliver city and ultimately enrich the lives of city residents.”

Using the mobile app or the new web portal, constituents will have the opportunity to submit requests, check progress, offer direct feedback, and have access to requests submitted by neighbors. A citywide discovery map allows each requestor to easily pinpoint locations and see at a glance the location and nature of issues being reported to the City. Residents can take pictures of issues while on the go and enter the information at a more convenient time.

The SYRCityline implementation will give the City’s customer service team a centralized management system to track requests. Much like the public view, city staff will be able to see the status of submitted requests from the moment they are received all the way through to the final resolution. The internal tracker identifies a communication chain for each department involved and sends notifications to city team members assigned to help close each ticket.

SYRCityline is now available for free to download the mobile app in the Google Play and the Apple App Stores for constituents to begin submitting requests. The link to the cityline.syrgov.net web portal can be used to add requests online. Requests can also still be submitted by phone by calling 315-448-CITY (2489). For more information about SYRCityline, the public can refer to the Frequently Asked Questions sheet. A tutorial video demonstrating how to submit a request via the web portal and the app can be viewed on the City of Syracuse’s YouTube page playlist.
