Village of Solvay- New York – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the Solvay Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred the morning of September 24th in the Village of Solvay.
The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the deadly shooting that took place yesterday morning in a home off Charles Avenue in the Village of Solvay. On September 24, 2022, approximately 11:35 A.M., several law enforcement members responded to a residence in the 300 block of Charles Avenue for a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious adult male victim who had been shot inside the home. The male was transported by AMR ambulance to Upstate University Hospital with life threatening injuries, he later died. Detectives have now identified the man who was shot and killed as 34-year-old Richard L. Anderson of Syracuse.
The suspect fled the scene prior to police arriving. Detectives are currently interviewing neighbors/witnesses in an attempt to develop suspect information.
