On Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, at around 2:08 P.M., Officers responded to the Destiny USA mall parking lot, near the east entrance, for a robbery call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 55-year-old female who reported being robbed. According to multiple reports the victim was Juli Boeheim, wife of Syracuse University’s men’s basketball coach, Jim Boeheim,
The investigation revealed that Ms. Boeheim was inside of her car, in the parking lot, when she was approached by a juvenile looking male. The male began a conversation with Boeheim and then displayed a handgun. While displaying the handgun, the suspect reached into her vehicle, grabbed the purse, and then proceeded to a get-away vehicle close by, along with two other juveniles who were in the area.
The suspects then fled the scene. There were no injuries reported. The investigation is active and ongoing; anyone with information is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department at (315) 442-5222.
