How to Configure Network Proxy Settings in Windows 10

Proxies offer a wide range of advantages for networks like increased security and bandwidth savings. They are common in alicehopper.review/ business and school settings, but you can configure them at home if your internet speed slows down. Windows 10’s Settings app and Control Panel are where you can set up proxy settings. If you use an internet proxy for work or school, make sure that the Use automatic detection of settings and the Use setup script switch is On under the Automatic Proxy Setup section.

Open the Internet Options window by clicking on the Control Panel icon or by typing “Internet options” into the Search bar. Open the LAN settings by clicking the Advanced tab. Input the proxy provider’s information in the Address and Port fields. Then, check the box Use an external proxy server for your LAN, and close the Internet Options window.

Malware can cause problems with the settings of your network proxy and prevent you from going online. If the error “Windows couldn’t automatically detect the proxy settings of this network” persists it is recommended to run a scan using an anti-malware program and check if it helps.

If the error persists, you can try resetting proxy settings using the Registry. However, be careful since altering the Registry can cause irreversible damage to your system. We recommend creating an initial backup before you begin this method. To do this do this, press the Win + R keys simultaneously. Type cmd and press Enter. This will launch the traditional Command Prompt.
