Syracuse, N.Y. – On Saturday May 28th, at approximately 10:46 P.M. Syracuse Firefighters were called out to a structure fire at 323 Palmer Avenue. Once on scene, fire crews found three floors of fully involved fire at the large 2 1/2-story, wood-frame house. Fire crews arrived on scene in two minutes and stretched fire hoses to extinguish the flames on the exterior of the structure then immediately transitioned to begin extinguishing fire on all levels on the interior of the house.
While the fire was being extinguished, rescue crews searched the building for any possible occupants inside. The searches for occupants were negative and firefighters extinguished the flames in about 70 minutes. A total of 44 firefighters fought the blaze. The Syracuse Fire Department Investigation Bureau is working to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
The Syracuse Police Department, AMR and National Grid were also on scene. There is no further information available at this time.
