Today for the first time in the history of Syracuse and Onondaga County, we raised flags from every Hispanic/Latino country to kick off the month-long celebration, which will continue until October 15th.
Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month reminds us that the American identity is a fabric of diverse traditions and stories woven together. Our culture has been enriched by the rhythms, art, literature, and creativity of Hispanic peoples, and our values have been shaped by the love of family and faith that is at the core of so many Hispanic and Latino communities.
Throughout this month, we affirm that diversity is one of our community’s strengths, and we reaffirm our commitment that Syracuse will be a growing city that embraces diversity and creates opportunity for all.
