The New York State Homeowner Assistance Fund (NYS HAF) is a federally funded program dedicated to assisting homeowners who are at risk of default, foreclosure, or displacement as result of a financial hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Homeowners that are behind on their housing bills can receive assistance like negotiating with their bank or mortgage servicer, free housing counseling and legal services, and financial assistance for past or future mortgage payments, property taxes, water or sewer bills, coop or condo fees, or manufactured home loans.
