Syracuse Stage Presents: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane
10:30–11:30am
Based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo | Adapted for the stage by Dwayne Hartford | Directed by Katherine McGerr | with guest lecturer Garth Johnson
Show Description
Edward Tulane is a very vain yet dapper china rabbit. A birthday present for a 10-year-old girl Abilene, he cares more about what he wears than the little girl who loves him. Lost at sea during an ocean voyage, Edward spends decades on a journey being passed from person to person and learns what it is to love, what it is to lose that love, and how to find the courage to love again. Based on Kate DiCamillo’s beautiful novel of the same name, it is a classic tale using music and fantastical storytelling to engage young audiences. Following the performances, guests will hear about ceramic animals in the Everson Museum’s collection and will be able to participate in a themed art-making session!
