Erie Street Fire

Syracuse, N.Y. – At approximately 7:31 p.m. on Friday July 26, 2019 the Syracuse Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 412 Erie Street.  Engine Co. 5 (110 North Geddes Street) arrived first and reported a 1 ½ story wood frame single family dwelling with fire visible from the eaves.  The home is the last house on a dead end street, at the top of a hill.  There were live power lines down in the front yard and across the stairs leading to the front of the house.

As additional companies arrived, crews had to haul the attack hoses up the steep front yard, make entry to the home and search for the fire and any potential victims.  The fire damage was confined to an unfinished attic space and no victims were found.

A neighbor noticed the fire and called 911, the occupants were not home at the time.  There were no injuries reported at this incident.  AMR, SPD and the Red Cross were also assisting on scene.
