East Genesee Regent Association to Hold Annual Children’s Holiday Party Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Businesses Provide Party and Presents for Neighborhood Children

Syracuse, N.Y.The businesses of the East Genesee Regent Association (EGRA) are holding their 26th Annual Holiday Party for children in the East Side neighborhood on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., at the University United Methodist Church, 1085 East Genesee Street, Syracuse.

Children, ages six months to twelve, from the East Genesee Street area are invited and treated to an evening of food, refreshments, fun, and entertainment.

E. Genesee at Irving Ave. a whole new community rises.

Activities will include entertainment by Wacheva Cultural Arts; face painting; crafts; a visit from Otto the Orange, Syracuse Police Department’s “McGruff the Crime Dog;” and the Imagination Library Program by the Literacy Coalition of Onondaga County. Santa Claus will bring age-appropriate presents for the children.

All gifts are donated by East Genesee Street area businesses, churches, medical offices, and EGRA members. Food and refreshments are courtesy of Franco’s Pizzeria and Deli, Woodbine Hospitality Group, Crowne Plaza Hotel, and Phoebe’s Restaurant & Coffee Lounge/Sherwood Inn Properties.

Alan Rothschild, President of EGRA, stated: “This has been a favorite of neighborhood families for over two decades. We assure that every child who attends leaves with a gift. We are delighted to be able to continue this tradition.”

The East Genesee Regent Association was formed in 1972, the EGRA is an organization of property owners, business people, residents and citizens concerned with the future of the East Genesee business community. The Association works to promote the area, to encourage community development and plan for the future of the neighborhood. As a member of the University Hill Corporation, the East Genesee Regent Association is also involved in the overall planning and development of the entire Hill area.
