Comments from Taste NY participants…

Laura Duryea of Cooper’s Daughter Spirits (Saugerties) “Cooper’s Daughter Spirits is thrilled to have our products showcased through the Taste NY initiative! One of the main goals of our business is to support our local New York State farms and small businesses and use their produce to make our own small batch spirits. Having the chance to exhibit at the fair allows us to reach those who live all across our state and is a very special opportunity for us.”

Amanda J. Taranto, Director of Nelson Farms (Cazenovia) “It’s truly something special to be a part of Taste NY. Shedding light on and supporting New York State farmers, growers, and producers is something we completely support. We’ve been a Taste NY partner since the beginning and are looking forward to coming back this year to showcase Nelson Farms and SUNY Morrisville student products.”

Heather Ward, Taste NY Market Manager at the Equal Rights Heritage Center (Auburn) “The Taste NY Market at The Equal Rights Heritage Center is excited to be involved in the Pop-Up Taste NY Market at the Great New York State Fair again this year. Working at the Taste NY Pop-Up Market is a great opportunity to showcase all the amazing products that are produced in New York State.  The best part of being at the fair is meeting all the fairgoers from different states and sharing our vendor stories with them.  Come see us in the Horticulture Building and shop the market for Cayuga County and NYS made products.”

About Taste NY

The Taste NY initiative has seen steady growth and recognition since it was created in 2013. The program, which is overseen by the Department of Agriculture and Markets, creates opportunities for local producers to showcase their goods at a variety of venues throughout the State and at large public events, such as the Great New York State Fair and the Barclays Tournament at Bethpage State Park. It has also helped the farms and companies participating in the program to reach more customers, increase online sales, and, in many cases, expand the processing capacity of their business. Taste NY’s food and beverage businesses also support the state’s farmers by using New York grown and produced ingredients in their products.
