City of Syracuse, New York – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred Sunday morning inside the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center (RTC) in the City of Syracuse.
This morning at approximately 2:07 am, sheriff’s deputies along with officers from the Syracuse Police Department responded to a reported shooting with multiple injuries inside the William F. Walsh Regional Transportation Center (RTC) located at 1 Walsh Circle. As officers arrived and approached the building they were encountered by a man armed with a handgun inside the lobby area. A deputy discharged their service weapon and the suspect was taken into custody without any injuries.
Two people inside the center had been shot by the suspect. One victim was shot in the abdomen and the other in the leg. Both victims were transported to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is very active and ongoing at this time.
