City of Syracuse Issues Traffic Advisories for Multiple Events This Weekend

How to navigate in and around Syracuse this weekend; Over The Edge Fearless 4 Kids, Mary Nelson’s Youth Day and Annual School Supply Giveaway, and Bacon Festival 

This weekend multiple events are taking place throughout our city. As a precaution the city issues a Traffic Advisory to inform the public of street closures due to an event. This weekend there are multiple events, hopefully this information will make it a little easier as you navigate to or around the various events.

 Over The Edge Fearless 4 Kids 

In order to set-up, execute and break down for events, the following street closing schedule will be in effect:

The following streets will be closed for the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center Over the Edge Fearless 4 Kids event around Fayette Firefighters Memorial Park on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17:

  • State Street, from E. Fayette Street to E. Genesee Street, will be closed starting at 7:00 a.m., Friday, August 16.
  • State Street, from E. Fayette Street to McCarthy Ave, will be closed starting at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17 and will reopen at 9:00 p.m.
  • Genesee Street, from S. State Street to S. Townsend Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17.
 Mary Nelson’s Youth Day and Annual School Supply Giveaway

In order to set-up, execute and break down for events, the following street closing schedule will be in effect:

The following streets will be closed for Mary Nelson’s Youth Day and Annual School Supply Giveaway in and around Sankofa Park on Saturday, August 17:

  • Salina Street, from E. Beard Ave to E. Colvin Street, will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17.
  • Colvin Street, from S. State to S. Salina Streets, will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17.
  • Wood Ave, from Mark Ave. to S. Salina Street, will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, August 17.
Bacon Festival

In order to set-up, execute and break down for events, the following street closing schedule will be in effect:

The following streets will be closed for the Bacon Festival in Clinton Square on Saturday, August 17:

  • West Water Street, from Clinton Street to Salina Street, will be closed at 7:00 a.m., Friday, August 16 through late Sunday morning, August 18.
  • West Water Street, from Clinton Street to Franklin Street, will become a two-way from 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 16 through late Sunday morning, August 18.
  • Erie Boulevard West, from Clinton Street to Franklin Street, will be closed from 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 16 through late Sunday morning, August 18.
  • Clinton Street, from Genesee Street to Washington Street, will be closed from 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 16 through late Sunday morning, August 18.
