Syracuse, N.Y. — As part of continued efforts to support job seekers and help city government fill openings in a tight labor market, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh is announcing an in-person government job fair on Tuesday, June 28 at Cecile Community Center from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The job fair will feature representatives from departments across City of Syracuse government meeting residents and individuals interested in careers with the city.

“Not just in government but across sectors, the pandemic continues to impact recruiting and hiring. City government offers great career opportunities with excellent benefits and the ability to make a difference in the community,” said Mayor Walsh. “I am excited that we are able to again host an in-person job fair and connect with residents interested in joining our team.”

The City’s Indeed.com account, which lists city employment opportunities, currently has 45 job openings with more coming online. The City has immediate openings in trades, administrative and professional positions. Open positions can be viewed at http://bit.ly/syrgovjobs.

“The City has a diverse range of open positions available and there are more added each day. As part of Syracuse’s deep commitment to embrace diversity and create a city for all, we are always looking for opportunities to bring on new members to our team. We welcome new ways of thinking and residents with innovative ideas to improve how we deliver city services,” said Mayor Walsh.

Candidates are encouraged to come prepared for immediate interviews and have several copies of their resumes on hand. Questions about the job fair can be directed to personnel@syrgov.net or by calling (315) 448-8780.
