Syracuse, N.Y. – An interfaith “prayer for peace” service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 7 P.M. at St. Luke’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 3290 Warners Road, Warners, N.Y. 13164. All are welcome to join together to pray for peace in Ukraine during this time of crisis. This interfaith prayer service will feature blessings from religious leaders of various faiths and is open to all. The service will be held in St. Luke’s outdoor pavilion, weather permitting. There will be a reception with refreshments.
The prayer service has been organized and supported by InterFaith Works of Central New York’s Round Table of Faith Leaders, St. Luke’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America – Syracuse Branch.
Significance of the date: In 2000, Ukraine officially designated June 22nd as “Remembrance Day of Mourning and Commemoration of War Victims.”
