Thursday Morning Roundtable Discussion: Children’s Behavioral Health Post-COVID

Presentation by Central New York health and family advocates Elizabeth Nolan, Jean Galle, and Jennifer Parmalee titled “Children’s Behavioral Health ‘Post-Pandemic’” hosted by Syracuse University’s Thursday Morning Roundtable. This session will explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted youth across Central New York.

Syracuse, N.Y. – Elizabeth Nolan, Jean Galle, and Jennifer Parmalee will speak on the topic of “Children’s Behavioral Health ‘Post-Pandemic’” during a Zoom public forum from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday hosted by Syracuse University’s Thursday Morning Roundtable. This session will explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted youth across Central New York.

Elizabeth Nolan, LMSW, is Chief Operating Officer of Hillside, a human service agency which provides behavioral health, child welfare and youth development services to children and families in Central and Western NY. She is a member of the Board of the NYS Coalition for Children’s Behavioral Health and has been a member of TMR for over 15 years.

Jean Galle, LMSW is the Director of Residential Services for Hillside’s Finger Lakes Campus which provides residential, clinical, educational and mental health services for children and adolescents. Services on campus are regulated by both the Office of Mental Health and Office of Children and Family Services.  Jean is a social worker who has worked with youth and families in the Central New York area for over 15 years.

Jennifer Parmalee is the Deputy Commissioner and Director of Community Services of the Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services. In this role, she directs and oversees all aspects of planning, program operations and resource allocation of the Mental Health Services and School Based Initiatives Divisions. Prior to this position, she served as the Director of School Based Initiatives and as the Director of Children and Youth Services for Onondaga County. Prior to her work with Onondaga County government, she served as the Executive Director of the McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center. Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree from Nazareth College and her MPA from the Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs, Syracuse University and currently serves on the school board for the Cazenovia Central School District.

Now in its 56th season, Thursday Morning Roundtable features speakers who discuss current topics relevant to Central New York and beyond. Following the forum, attendees can use the chat function to ask questions and a moderator will conduct the Q&A session.
