Woman in Critical Condition After being struck by Vehicle in Mattydale

Town of Salina, New York – The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating an accident involving a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on Brewerton Road (Route 11) near Malden Road in Mattydale.

Sunday evening February 13th at approximately 6:09 P.M., Sheriff’s Deputies along with rescue personnel responded to Brewerton Road near Malden Road for a reported accident involving a SUV that struck a pedestrian. When deputies arrived on scene, they discovered an unconscious adult female in the road with severe injuries. The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

Deputies investigating the accident state that the victim appeared to have been attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Brewerton Road when she was struck by a 2004 Jeep Cherokee that was traveling north bound.

The driver of the Jeep, a 23-year-old male from Williamstown, was not injured in the accident and is cooperating with deputies as they continue to investigate the facts and circumstances surrounding the accident.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
