Syracuse, NY – Family Friendzy, presented by the City of Syracuse Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Programs, 93Q and McDonald’s, will return to Clinton Square this summer with an afternoon of fun activities, entertainment on two stages, exhibits and more.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 7 from noon to 5 p.m.
Headlining the Price Chopper Main Stage will be national recording artist Shontelle for a free concert at 3 p.m., followed by an autograph session. The 23-year-old Bajan singer-songwriter is known for her hit “Impossible.”
Other performers on the Price Chopper Main Stage will include the Stan Colella All-Star Band, the Media Unit and Puente Flamenco. There will be a second stage offering more interactive audience participation, which will include performances from the Silly Family Circus, during which children will have the opportunity to play various roles in the circus, such as the magician. There will also be Irish sing-alongs with the McCarthy Family and African drumming with percussionist Herb Levens.
Bounce ‘N Around will have a bounce house and a 24-foot inflatable slide. There will be face painting by Miss Erna, pony rides with Apple Ponies from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., activities with the Syracuse Police Department, the Onondaga Historical Association, OCCRA and Say Yes to Education and a visit from the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile noon to 1 p.m.
