Syracuse, N.Y. – At 7:32 A.M. Friday November 5, the Syracuse Fire Department was called to the Landmark Theatre, located at 326 South Salina Street, for a report of a person trapped inside of a wall. Theatre employees called 911 after hearing someone banging on the wall and yelling for help.
It was determined that the 39 year old male entered the establishment on Tuesday, 11-2-21, and climbed in to a crawl space. The male then fell in to a void within the crawl space and was unable to get out.
Upon arrival, members of Rescue Company 1 drilled a hole in the wall and utilized a fiber-optic camera to determine his exact location and how to best extricate him. Firefighters were then able to free the individual after carefully cutting through several layers of drywall and structural clay tile.
The male was transported to Upstate Hospital for evaluation. At this time, there are no criminal charges being filed.
