Asian Homeowners Targeted in Burglary Ring

County of Onondaga, New York- The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that three men have been arrested in burglary ring that targeted Asian homeowners.

Sheriff’s Detectives recently arrested three men accused of targeting Asian homeowners for theft as part of an intricate burglary ring that preyed mainly on business owners. The suspects accused of committing these burglaries, would stakeout the victim’s businesses (nail salons & restaurants), watch their every move, follow them home, where they would later return to burglarize the residence and in some cases, their business.

The burglaries, which occurred between May and October of this year, occurred in the towns of DeWitt, Clay, Manlius, Salina, the City of Syracuse, and the Village of North Syracuse as well as East Syracuse. The suspects would enter the residence by force and once inside they would steal large amounts of cash, coins, jewelry, and designer bags/purses.

The three men recently charged have been identified as: Emery Kinsey (39) of Syracuse was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of a firearm, four counts of burglary in the 2nd degree, one count of burglary in the 3rd degree, two counts of grand larceny in the 3rd degree, one count of grand larceny in the 4th degree, five counts of criminal mischief in the 4th degree, and three counts of petit larceny. Currently being held without bail.

Jared Donaldson (29) of Syracuse was charged with two counts of burglary in the 2nd degree, grand larceny in the 3rd degree, three counts of criminal mischief in the 4th degree and attempted petit larceny. Currently being held without bail.

Phillip Jackson (39) of Syracuse was charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, grand larceny in the 3rd degree and criminal mischief in the 4th degree. Currently being held without bail.

A fourth man, identified as Donovan Moorman (34) of Syracuse, is currently wanted for burglary in the 2nd degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree.

The investigation remains active and additional arrests are expected.
