County Executive McMahon Announces Weekly COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Civic Center Clinics will run every Tuesday starting June 22nd

Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon today announced that starting next Tuesday, June 22nd and every Tuesday thereafter, the Onondaga County Health Department will be offering Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines at the Onondaga County Civic Center. The clinic will be held on Tuesdays from 9:00AM – 11:30AM and 1:00PM – 3:00PM in room 30 which is located in the basement level of the Civic Center, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred by calling (315) 435-2000.

This COVID-19 vaccine clinic will serve those ages 12 and older. Please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Please bring a photo ID and insurance card (if you have one). COVID-19 vaccine is free, even if you have no health insurance.

J. Ryan McMahon II County Executive

County Executive Ryan McMahon said, “As we reclaim our lives and our economy continues to recover, it is critical that we still offer the vaccine to those who have not yet had a chance to receive it.

The vaccine is safe and effective, but we recognize that there are those in our community who wanted to wait. This weekly clinic will give them assurance that when they are ready, they will still have somewhere to go to receive the vaccine.” McMahon continued, “Thank you, as always, to the entire Onondaga County team who made this happen.”

In our effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and wellbeing of our clients and staff members, the clinic will implement the following requirements:

Everyone over age 2 must wear a face covering upon entering the Civic Center and will be required to keep it on until they leave the Civic Center.

  • Individuals will have their temperature taken and be pre-screened for risk factors. Only children getting the vaccine are allowed in clinic, and only one adult may accompany them.
  • Chairs in the waiting room will be placed 6 feet apart.
  • To limit traffic in the waiting area, there will be a separate entrance and exit.
  • All staff will wear masks at all times while in the clinic setting.

If you are under isolation or quarantine because of COVID, or experiencing any of the following symptoms: dry cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, congestion or runny nose, fever, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, please call (315) 435-2000 to reschedule your appointment for a later date.

For more information, please call the Onondaga County Health Department at (315) 435-2000.
