AT&T, City of Syracuse, and Syracuse Juneteenth Committee Announce Partnership to Celebrate Local Black-Owned Businesses Through “Ignite Juneteenth” Campaign
On Friday, Apr. 23, Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh and regional representatives from global telecommunications company, AT&T, announced a campaign to highlight and support local Black-owned businesses.
As the first official observance of Juneteenth as a national holiday, the City, AT&T, and the Syracuse Juneteenth Committee are calling on the community to nominate Black-owned businesses, follow the digital stories and join the campaign. The Syracuse Juneteenth Committee will announce how residents can learn more about Juneteenth, what it means to celebrate Black-owned businesses and how businesses are already getting engaged.
Members of the Syracuse Juneteenth Committee will also share the importance of the Juneteenth festival and what it has meant to transition to a digital campaign because of COVID-19.
