Syracuse Police Investigate Multiple Shootings and Two Homicides between 12:33 am Friday and 2:04 am Sunday

Syracuse Police continue to investigate four shootings, that includes one homicide between 12:33 am 2:04 am in Syracuse.

Early Friday morning June 5th Trejan Sales was shot and killed, 100 block of Neutral Ct. Again on Sunday morning June 7th a shooting on the 300 block of Ellis St., claims the life of India Butler of Syracuse.

What follows are a series of police responses to incidents; weapons, drug charges, and shots fired calls.

Gun Charges for Syracuse Man

Sunday, June 7th, 2020, around 12:33 A.M., Officers responded to the 1400 block of S. Salina St. for a shots fired type call. Upon arrival, Officers discovered 35 casings in the street, and two vehicles were struck. No injuries were reported. Officers R. Solis and A. Sticca were in the area as shots were being fired and observed a car attempting to leave the scene. The vehicle was stopped, and a passenger, Daquan Singletary, 26,  fled from the car and was subsequently caught by Officer Sticca, with the assistance of Officers C. Goode and A. Wolf. Then Officers searched the surrounding area and located a loaded 9mm handgun. Singletary was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Marihuana in the Second Degree. ​

 

Shots Fired 300 block of Rowland St

Sunday, June 7th, 2020, at around 12:35 A.M., Officers responded to the 300 block of Rowland St. for a shots fired type call. Upon arrival, Officers located evidence of shots fired, and a casing was found. No injuries or damage reported. The investigation is active and ongoing. Woman Shot on Ellis Street Pronounced Dead

Sunday, June 7th, 2020, at around 12:51 A.M., Officers responded to the 300 block of Ellis St. for a shooting with injuries type call. Upon arrival, Officers located a 24-year-old female, India Butler who was shot in the mid-section. The female was transported to Upstate Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Shots Fired 300 block of Tully St.

Sunday, June 7th, 2020, at around 02:04 A.M., Officers responded to the 300 block of Tully St. for a shots fired type call. Upon arrival, Officers located evidence of shots fired and multiple casings were found. No injuries or damage was reported. The investigation is active and ongoing. Neutral Ct. Shooting on June 5th Victim Dies at Scene

Friday, June 5th, 2020, at around 12:05 A.M., Officers responded to the 100 block of Neutral Ct. for a shooting with injuries complaint. Upon arrival, Officers discovered a 20-year-old male, Trejan Sales who was shot in the head. The male was pronounced dead on scene. The investigation is active and ongoing; anyone with information is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department at (315) 442- 5222.​
