Syracuse University will conduct a Virtual Degree Conferral Sunday, May 10, when nearly 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students receive their program degrees. The program will be streamed live on the university’s website and begins at 10 a.m. Sunday (EST).

A full, traditional commencement ceremony will be held this fall at a time and date to be announced.

Sunday’s virtual event will include remarks from Chancellor Kent Syverud, Interim Vice Chancellor and Provost John Liu, Chair of the Board of Trustees Kathy Walters ‘73 and Student Association President Mackenzie Mertikas ’20. The Virtual Degree Conferral will also include remarks from special guests.

The Office of Student Activities with the president of the Student Association, Senior Class Marshals and the Homecoming Court are also hosting virtual activities leading up to the Virtual Degree Conferral. Activities include a live-streamed concert Friday; and a social media event Saturday for which seniors are encouraged to share photos on social media of the items they recently received from the Office of Student Activities, including tee shirts, confetti and Class of 2020 signs.
