We love to celebrate our neighborhoods! Thank you to everyone who made August 15th’s Multicultural Block Party at Skiddy Park another huge success for our Near Westside neighborhood.
On its 10th year, the Block Party brought out the police, common councilors, residents, volunteers, and friends of the Near Westside Initiative. NWSI has done an inspiring job of investing in creative and innovative events and spaces that foster engagement and spur economic opportunities.
More importantly, we have reason to believe the initiative has been recruiting residents who throw a strong curveball solely for the purpose of dunking Mayor Walsh and Syracuse Parks & Rec Deputy Commissioner Jimmy Oliver in today’s dunk tank! ?
