BIDDING & CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for construction of the Town Shop Roof Replacement will be received by the Town Clerk’s Office, Municipal Building, 4600 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, New York 13219 until 11:00 A.M. local time, April 18, 2008 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids will be received for the following Contract:
Contract No. 1 – General Construction: shall include replacement of approximately 1,600 square feet of roofing to include removal of ACM flashing,; strip shingles down to deck and felt paper from the roof; demolish chimney below roof and repair the plywood sheathing; extend 4-inch PVC vent stack through the roof; install a prefabricated metal hatch and curb; replace deteriorated fascia boards, and aluminum fascia; install missing soffit along the east and west walls; install new 50-year architectural shingles, ridge vent, and drip edge; repair the cracked rafter at roof hatch and east chimney, and all other related items necessary for a complete and weathertight installation.
Contract Documents, including Advertisement For Bids, Information For Bidders, Labor and Employment, Additional Instructions, Bid Documents, Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements, Specifications, Contract Drawings and any Addenda, may be examined at no expense at the office of Barton & Loguidice, P.C., Consulting Engineers, 290 Elwood Davis Road, Liverpool, New York 13088, the Town Clerk’s Office, Municipal Building, 4600 West Genesee Street, Syracuse, New York 13219, or at the County of Onondaga Community Development Division, 1100 John H. Mulroy Civic Center, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, New York 13202. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained from Barton & Loguidice, P.C., upon deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for each set. Any bidder upon returning such set in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the Contract or the rejection of the bids will be refunded his payment, and any non-bidder upon so returning such set in good condition will be refunded Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00). Checks only shall be made payable to the Town of Camillus.
CASH DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALL HANDLING COSTS (MAIL, DELIVERY SERVICES, ETC.) SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDER.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percentum (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof.
A pre-bid conference with the Town of Camillus will be held at the project site on April 9, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. local time. Attendance by all those proposing to submit is recommended.
The project is funded in part by a grant from the Onondaga County Community Development Division. Approximately 75% of the total project cost will be financed by Federal money. Bidders will be required to commit themselves to a goal for minority business participation in the Contract.
This is a time and materials project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the Town of Camillus prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract.
The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.
The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
