2023 Parks Winter Photo Contest Announced

Onondaga County Parks is excited to announce the 5th Annual Winter Photo Contest which will kick off on New Year’s Day and run through January 31, 2023. Once again, Syracuse City Parks is joining in on the fun. Participants will be able to scout out the best locations in Onondaga County Parks including Beaver Lake Nature Center, Highland Forest and Onondaga Lake Park along with the multitude of City Parks found throughout Syracuse in search of an award-winning photograph.

Photographers of all abilities, age 5 & up, are invited to enter for a chance to win prizes in four categories including Best Action, Best Portrait, Best Winter Scene & Most Artistic. In addition, all entries will be eligible to win the People’s Choice Award, which will be selected via an online vote. The contest is free to enter with a limit of two entries per participant.

To be eligible, photos must be taken at any OPEN Onondaga County Park or Syracuse City Park during the contest period of January 1-31, 2023. Regular admission rates, if applicable, will apply. Photographers must follow all park rules, stay on designated paths with the proper equipment (i.e. snowshoes, cross country skis) and obey posted signs. Flash photography is prohibited where indicated. Photo contest entries will only be accepted via an online application and are due by 4 p.m. on February 1, 2023. Late entries will not be accepted.
